Bubble party and the Toe Jam Puppet Band

Summer Spectacular Activities

All activities are FREE with museum admission unless otherwise noted.

Today’s Highlights

Bubble Parties on the Quad, 11 am-2 pm
Join the fun, exciting, and interactive party! Dance to kid-friendly music and songs they know and like. Dance the limbo, with hula hoops, bubbles, and more.

Toe Jam Puppet Band, 2 pm
Toe Jam Puppet Band offers a special brand of hands-on children’s entertainment that grown-ups can also enjoy. The performances are very active, encouraging kids and parents to sing and dance along with the band as they entertain with a unique combination of original songs, masterful shadow puppetry, storytelling and just plain old good fun.

Ongoing Activities

Cat’s Corner, 10 am-4 pm
Our Dr. Seuss-themed drop-in space on the Lower Level of the Amazing World of Dr. Seuss Museum. Stop in to read some of Ted Geisel’s original stories along with lots of other picture books, plus take part in facilitated art and literacy activities.

Backyard Safari, 11 am-3 pm
Investigate and learn about wildlife that can be found in our own backyards! Explore and observe different animal and plant life through hands-on activities.

Survivor: Animal Adaptation Edition, 11 am-3 pm
Learn about important and unusual animal strategies for survival in the wild lead by one of our friendly Museum Educators. Help create and build a model animal shelter.

Wild About Opossums, 11 am-3 pm
What backyard mammal has been around since the time of the dinosaurs, is immune to snake venom, and is the only marsupial in the United States? It’s the Virginia Opossum! Find out more about this fascinating creature.

Natural Creations, 11 am-3 pm
Experiment with natural materials to create our project of the week. Explore leaves, branches, flowers, or items from the kitchen, like salt and oil. Create your own project to take home.

Art Discovery Center, noon-4 pm
Trace Chinese characters, try on costumes, play gallery games, peek under lift-up panels on the Wall of Symbols to discover the meaning behind Asian motifs, put on a puppet show, and make an art project. Today’s project: Starry Night Swirls, inspired by Van Gogh for All.
