“Tromp l’oeil”, French for “to deceive the eye”, refers to the style of
painting which tricks the eye into thinking that a flat picture is 3 –
dimensional. This class, open to beginner and experienced painters alike,
will teach students how to create a realistic oil painting that creates the illusion of being 3D. Students will learn the fundamentals of oil painting and how to work in layers, progressively building up the paint and adding more detail. Class discussion will include concepts such as how to create the illusion of space, form, and dimension, as well as painting techniques such as blending, mixing, and stumbling. Open to all painting levels, this is an excellent class for anyone who has ever wanted to learn how to make their painting appear like real life. Supply list provided.
