Join us in exploring International Art in this lecture and discussion series. While art theory will be discussed in class in connection with the cultural and historical contexts of each art piece, the focus of the course will be to visually deconstruct the artworks presented in class. We will begin our tour in the art of Asia, then move to South America, and continue from there, exploring as many countries and cultures as we can. A series of images will be presented every class with a list of terms corresponding to the art period being studied. Students will engage in class discussion regarding each presented piece. All students welcome, regardless of prerequisites.
