Horse racing became wildly popular in 19th century America. The Currier & Ives lithography firm was the country’s longest running printing establishment, and helped to document the sport’s heyday by mass-producing images of important races and their competitors. Maggie will contextualize and elaborate on the dynamic images on view in the Alpert Gallery at the D’Amour Museum of Fine Arts.
