The Springfield Museums is proud to present To the Moon and Back, a dazzling celebration on Friday, February 14, from 5-8:30 pm at the Springfield Science Museum. Attendees will enjoy an original planetarium show created exclusively for this event by museum staff, a tour of our rooftop observatory, and more. Tickets for the age 21+ event are $25 for members and $35 for nonmembers with reservations encouraged.
The immersive, colorful planetarium show features the Science Museum’s Zeiss full-dome projection system and a selection of songs about the moon. Staff have chosen romantic songs from a diverse group of artists to encourage our visitors to lean in close to their dates, and dream of times spent mooning in warmer weather.
“Moongazing with someone you love keeps your feet on the ground while your hearts travel through space,” says Jenny Powers, Director of the Springfield Science Museum. “We’ll be celebrating all things love and all things moon this Valentine’s Day with spectacular views through telescopes, hands-on activities designed for adults, and of course, a planetarium show. When your love says they love you to the moon and back, that’s 476,000 miles!”
