James McNeill Whistler spent three childhood years in Springfield. He and his mother — depicted in his famous portrait –were interested in food and cooking. Both left records of the dishes they cooked, she in her recipe notebook and he in the menu cards written for the meals he hosted for his fashionable London friends. This class explores their two different cooking worlds with tastes to follow.
