The Springfield Museums invites the public to travel down the Witches’ Path for Bewitched: A Haunting Evening to Benefit the Springfield Museums, a spellbinding fundraiser blending art, enchantment, and community spirit. The event will take place on Thursday, October 23, from 6 pm to 8:30 pm at the George Walter Vincent Smith Art Museum.
Attendees can expect a mystical night of immersive experiences, live performances, culinary concoctions, and opportunities to support the Museums’ world-class exhibitions and programs. Tickets are $100 per person (ages 21 and up), with reservations requested by October 16, and themed attire is encouraged.
“Over the past few years, our fall fundraising events have offered unforgettable evenings of fun, discovery, and a deeper appreciation for the hidden beauty within our museums,” says Kay Simpson, President & CEO of the Springfield Museums. “This year, we’re especially thrilled to unveil our most exciting theme yet, ‘Bewitched.’ Guests can enjoy live entertainment surrounded by works of art, all while supporting literacy and learning at the Museums.”
Attendees will journey through the galleries of the Gilded Age museum, exploring treasures from around the world, while enjoying:
- Tarot card readings by Ariel of Mirror, Mirror Tarot
- Witchy acrobats offering thematic surprises by SHOW Circus Studio of Easthampton
- Music from DJ TJ and pianist Mark Kelso of Muddy Angel Music
- Mystical appearances by the museum’s founders, George Walter Vincent Smith and Belle Townsley Smith
- Delicious hors d’oeuvres and a complimentary signature cocktail by Al Dente Catering
A silent auction will offer unique items including:
- A private tour of Kykuit, the Rockefeller Estate, led by relative Steven Rockefeller
- Otherworldly glass art by renowned artist Josh Simpson
- A cozy weekend stay in a woodland cottage
- A selection of low-number Dr. Seuss license plates
Supporters of the Museums who are unable to attend can still participate in the silent auction, opening October 16, no matter where they happen to be. The Museums are partnering with GiveSmart, a mobile auction platform, allowing everyone to bid on items right from their smartphones.
All funds raised will support Springfield Museums’ ongoing mission: to provide exceptional exhibitions, educational programs, and enriching experiences for all members of the community.
This evening promises to be a magical celebration of art, history, and community. It’s a chance to mingle with new and familiar friends, explore the museum’s timeless collections, and ensure that the Museums continue to inspire people of all ages.
