The Springfield Museums, along with Dr. Seuss Enterprises, is thrilled to announce the return of Grinchmas, the most wonderful and Grinchy way to celebrate the holiday season! Beginning with the opening of the Grinch’s Grotto on Saturday, November 22, hearts will grow three sizes during annual festivities that honor Springfield native Theodor Seuss Geisel, also known as Dr. Seuss, the beloved author who revolutionized and instilled a love of reading for generations of children.
Exclusive to the Museums, the Grinch’s Grotto will replicate the lovable curmudgeon’s home on Mount Crumpit, making it the perfect spot for holiday photos. This year, the Grotto features a new, large-scale Who-ville experience, featuring games, and a station where visitors can write letters to the Grinch and drop them in the “Who-ville Post.” Those looking to attend can check the Museums’ online calendar to see when the Grinch himself will be there to pose for photos.
“The holiday season would not be complete without the Grinch,” says Larissa Murray, Director of Education. “We’re looking forward to celebrating this festive time of year with visitors from near and far!”
Susan Brandt, President & CEO of Dr. Seuss Enterprises, added, “The Grinch’s story continues to resonate because it mirrors the heart of every holiday season. We are thrilled to bring Grinchmas back to Springfield Museums, who does an excellent job each year of bringing Who-ville to life, while turning holiday moments into memorable experiences for all.”
