Hopi polychrome water canteen made by Nampeyo (ca. 1869-1942). Donated to the Museum by Charles W. Hull in 1982.
Nampeyo was a Hopi-Tewa potter who lived on the Hopi Reservation in Arizona. She used ancient techniques to shape and fire her pots. Designs on ancient pottery inspired her work.
