Springfield Museums Story: “When she was growing up, girls weren’t able to do science!”

An older woman came to visit the Spark!Lab. She saw all of the kids working with the snap circuits and began to look through them herself. She mentioned that she loved them and loved that they were available to everyone to come and work with. She then told me that she would have loved something like that as a kid, but when she was growing up, girls weren’t able to do science. She was so happy there was a place that was open to everyone that let all kids learn and get hands-on experience with science, no matter who they were.
