The Springfield Museums' Weekend Family Fun series will continue on Saturday, February 28, from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. with a birthday bash for Dr. Seuss. The snow date is Sunday, March 1. Theodor Seuss Geisel was born in Springfield on March 2, 1904.
Weekend Family Fun programs are sponsored by T.D. Banknorth. Activities are free with museum admission.
· 11 a.m. – Meet the Cat in the Hat as he prowls the Science Museum galleries.
· 11:15 a.m. – Hear a performance by the Boland School Seuss Singers.
· 11:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. – Go wild with a rainforest art activity.
· Noon-3:45 p.m. – Make a Horton Hears a Who clover.
· Noon – Meet some live animals when Creature Teachers presents “If I Ran the Rainforest.”
· Noon-3 p.m. – “Dr. Seuss Takes the Cake” contest. (Cake will not be served.) Stop by and vote for your favorite Seuss-themed cake decorated and donated by area bakeries. The winner will be announced at 3:45 p.m.
· 2 p.m. – Join Ronald McDonald for a reading of Green Eggs and Ham and stay for a brief performance.
