On Thursday, February 2 from 5-8 pm, the Springfield Museums invites guests to put their New Year’s resolution on hiatus at “Indulgence: An Evening of Wine and Chocolate,” at the Michele and Donald D’Amour Museum of Fine Arts.

This particular event is one of the most popular of the Culture & Cocktails series, as the admission includes the chance to taste a variety of rose and sparkling wines while taking in the D’Amour Museum’s collection of American and European art. Guests will be treated to a preview of the upcoming special exhibition Jeweled Objects of Desire, featuring a selection of stunning gems from the vaults of the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History as well as gold and jewel-encrusted utilitarian items by artist and jeweler-to-the-stars Sidney Mobell.

Dancers from the Pioneer Valley Ballet will bring the galleries to life, interpreting the artwork through movement. Visitors can also create an artistic valentine with a museum educator.

Catered by Log Rolling, the all-chocolate menu includes chocolate covered bacon, churro bites, Oreo cheesecake lollipops, mini cupcakes and more. There will also be a cash bar featuring pomegranate sparkling wine cocktails and delicious Cheeseburger Chowder available for purchase.

Tickets are $15 for nonmembers and $5 for members. Due to the popularity of the event in the past, purchasing advance tickets is strongly encouraged. Tickets may be purchased at the Welcome Center or visiting the Museums’ website. All attendees must be 21 years of age or older.

Culture & Cocktails are after-five events held at one of the four museums on the Quadrangle campus. Each event’s theme is inspired be the Springfield Museums’ extensive collections, special exhibits and holiday celebrations. The next event will take place on April 6, 2017, and serve as the kick-off for the annual Festival of Flowers (April 6-9).
