Have fun during December school vacation with “Wacky Week” at the Springfield Museums. The Museums will be open regular hours Monday, Dec. 26-Friday, Dec. 30. Vacation week activities will take place from Tuesday through Friday and are free with the price of museum admission unless noted. “Wacky Week” is part of the Museums’ Family Fun series and is sponsored by TD Bank through the TD Charitable Foundation.
Special Exhibitions, Monday through Friday, 10 am-5 pm
- Visit Gingerbread Fantasy at the Science Museum and vote for your favorite gingerbread house in the People’s Choice Award.
- Challenge yourself in the new Hasbro GameLand at the Wood Museum of Springfield History, a hands-on exhibit gallery for children with activity stations based on games of memory, chance, speed, imagination, strategy and word play.
- See what Santa looked like in 19th-century illustrations in Santa Enlists in the Civil War at the Wood Museum of Springfield History.
- View beautiful artwork in Old Masters to Monet: Three Centuries of French Painting from the Wadsworth Atheneum, on view in the D’Amour Museum of Fine Arts. (additional fee)
