Bring the kids and the out-of-town relatives to the Springfield Museums on the day after Thanksgiving for "Dino-Mite Dinosaurs," a day of prehistoric fun. Activities will take place on Friday, Nov. 24 from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. and are free with museum admission. Grab a quick lunch at the Family Fun Snack Bar in the Museum of Fine Arts and make a day of it. "Dino-Mite Dinosaurs" is sponsored by Westfield Bank.
Performance: 2 p.m., Museum of Fine Arts – Using large puppets and imaginative props, children's entertainer Diane Kordas will present The Magic Rock, the story of a dinosaur who discovers a stone that gives him the power to bungee jump, skateboard and even read. Ongoing activities: Noon-3:45 p.m., G.W.V. Smith Art Museum Make a "stencil-a-saurus" in the Art Discovery Center. Dig for and assemble dinosaur fossils. Noon-3 p.m., Science Museum Dinosaur-themed hands-on activities the whole family can enjoy.
