Enter the Imaginary World of Grimm’s Fairy Tales at the Springfield Museums

The Springfield Museums’ Summer Festival Days will continue August 3-7 with "Grimm’s Fairy Tales." Activities are free with the price of museum admission unless noted.


Monday, Aug. 3

Make a fairy tale character paper bag puppet, noon-3:45 p.m.

Tuesday, Aug. 4

Make a fairy tale sticker scene or a magic mirror, 11 a.m.-3 p.m.

Wednesday, Aug. 5

Meet “TAM,” the Transparent Anatomical Manikin, 11:30 a.m.

Performance: “The Bremen Town Musicians” by Romper & Rhythm Puppets, 1 p.m.

Thursday, Aug. 6

Meet “TAM,” the Transparent Anatomical Manikin, 11:30 a.m.

Performance: “Rumpletoadstool” by Rosalita’s Puppets, 1 p.m.

Friday, Aug. 7

Meet “TAM,” the Transparent Anatomical Manikin, 11:30 a.m.

Performance: “Hansel and Gretel” by the Tanglewood Marionettes, 1 p.m.

 

Daily:

See the special exhibit Grossology: The (Impolite) Science of the Human Body (additional fee)

Hands-on Family Science Adventures, 12:30-3:30 p.m.

Planetarium shows, 11:15 a.m., noon, 1 & 2 p.m., Science Museum (additional fee).

Crafts and costumes in the Art Discovery Center, noon-3:45 p.m.

Art activities, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. (Tues.-Fri.)

 

The final week of “Summer Festival Days” will be August 10-14 with Weird and Wacky Science.
