Bring a picnic supper, a blanket or a lawn chair and join the Springfield Museums and the Armoury-Quadrangle Civic Association for “Wednesdays in the Park,” a series of three free live music concerts by local musicians. The concerts will be held on Wednesdays in August from 6 to 8 p.m. on the Quadrangle green. If it rains, the performances will be held in the auditorium of the D’Amour Museum of Fine Arts.
August 4 – Sam Plotkin and Friends – Singer/songwriter Sam will perform with the Radioxile Band and special guest Steve Barnett.
August 11 – La Perfecta Band – Enjoy a lively performance by this Latin Jazz Ensemble.
August 18 – Eva Cappelli and the Watershops Band – The group performs a mix of original blues, folk, country, rock, and “torch songs” with 1940s-50s styling. Among the band members is lead guitarist Joe Carvalho, former president of the Springfield Museums.
“Wednesdays in the Park” is sponsored in part by a grant to the Armoury-Quadrangle Civic Association from the Springfield Cultural Council, a local agency supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council.
