Wear your Halloween costume to the Springfield Museums on Saturday, October 24, for some “Halloween Happenings.” Activities will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and are free with museum admission unless noted.
Weekend Family Fun programs are sponsored by TD Bank.
The schedule includes:
11 a.m.-4 p.m. – Go on an I Spy scavenger hunt through the galleries of the D’Amour Museum of Fine Arts.
11:30 a.m.-3 p.m. – Art activity: Make a not-so-scary scarecrow.
Noon-3:45 p.m. – Art activity: Design your own pumpkin or Jack-O’-Lantern.
12:15-12:45 p.m. – Debbie O’Carroll performs strolling magic in the Science Museum
1 p.m. – Performance: Trick or Treat Magic Show by Debbie O’Carroll’s Magical Theatre for Children: The audience will attend a ghostly tea party and trick or treat at a haunted house. They’ll make sound effects for a silly nightmare, meet some magical Halloween creatures, and more. The combination of stage magic, physical comedy, tap dancing and fanciful tales with lots of audience participation makes this show perfect for young Halloween revelers.
1-3:30 p.m. – Hands-on Family Science Adventures: Learn about sound, electricity and dinosaurs.
