The Springfield Museums' Family Fun series will continue on Friday, November 27, with "Amazing Art Adventures." Activities will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and are free with museum admission unless noted.

Weekend Family Fun programs are sponsored by TD Bank. “Amazing Art Adventures” is also funded in part by a grant from the Springfield Cultural Council, a local agency supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council. 

Special Children’s Theater Performance: 

·         Mystic Paper Beasts Theater Company presents Art Fool, a fast-paced, amusing exploration of art and artists. Wearing hand-made masks, the performers examine the role of the artist, the medium, the audience, and the hilarious interplay between all three; D’Amour Museum of Fine Arts, 2-3 p.m.

Ongoing Activities:

·         Scavenger Hunts – Go on an “I Spy” scavenger hunt through the galleries of the D’Amour Museum of Fine Arts, then discover items invented and made in Springfield as you tour the galleries of the new Museum of Springfield History; 11 a.m.-3:45 p.m.

·         Art Activities – Experiment with different techniques and create your own work of art; 11:30 a.m.-3 p.m.           

·         Explore art from around the world and do art-themed word searches, coloring activities and more in the Art Discovery Center, noon-3:45 p.m.       

Family Science Adventures – Discover the links between science and art with hands-on activities; 1-3:30 p.m.
