The Springfield Museums at the Quadrangle will present the following Museums à la Carte programs in January. The programs are held on Thursdays at 12:15 p.m. in the Museum of Fine Arts.
January 3 – The Surprise of Currier & Ives: The Making of a Local PBS Documentary; Mary Steele, executive producer & project manager, "Currier & Ives: Perspectives on America." January 10 – Dinosaurs, Dunes, and Drifting Continents: The Geology of the Connecticut River Valley; Richard Little, author and professor emeritus of geology, Greenfield Community College. January 17 – History Comes Alive: 9th Massachusetts Light Artillery; Civil War re-enactors. January 24 – Josh Simpson & the Contemporary Art Glass Movement; Gloria Russell, art historian and reviewer. January 31 – Every Past Thing: A Novel Journey into Local History, Pamela Thompson, novelist. Admission to Museums à la Carte is $4 ($2 for members of the Springfield Museums). The programs are sponsored by Big Y World Class Market. Visitors are invited to bring lunch to enjoy during the program; cookies and coffee are provided.
