LittleFest of Storytelling

The Springfield Museums at the Quadrangle will host "LittleFest of Storytelling IV" on Saturday, September 13, from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The event is free for Springfield residents. Activities planned for outdoors will be held inside if it rains.


The multi-cultural children's literature festival is sponsored by Cherish Every Child, an initiative of the Irene E. and George A. Davis Foundation; the Springfield City Library; WGBY Public Television for Western New England; MassMutual Financial Group; and the Horace A. Moses Charitable Foundation, Bank of America, Trustee. Families are invited to join us for the following activities: Performances 10 & 11 a.m., 1 & 2 p.m. – Visit with Biscuit from the popular book series. (Quadrangle Green) 10:15 a.m. & 11:15 a.m. – Leeny Del Seamonds performs Foibles, Folklore & Fun!, a program of uplifting folk tales, including Latino stories and songs (Central Library). 10:15 a.m. & 1:15 p.m. – Mary Jo Maichack, a minstrel storyteller, will sing and play guitar for children learning to love words (Science Museum). 10:30 & 11:30 a.m., 12:30 & 1:30 p.m. – Meet the one and only Curious George. 11:15 a.m. & 1:15 p.m. – Irene Smalls will take you on a journey through the city with Jonathan and His Mommy and introduce you to My Nana and Me (Quadrangle Green). Ongoing Activities 10 a.m.-2:30 p.m. – Each child will receive a free book (Quadrangle Tent). 10 a.m.-2:30 p.m. – Information Fair – Learn more about services and programs offered to families with young children (Quadrangle Tent). Noon-3:45 p.m. – Make a Curious George door hanger (G.W.V. Smith Art Museum).
