Meet the Puppet Creatures that Live in Sylvia’s Magic Trunk

The Springfield Museums' Family Fun series will continue on Friday, April 10, from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. with "Sylvia and the Magic Trunk." Activities are free with the price of museum admission unless noted.

Scheduled Presentations

12:30 & 2 p.m., D’Amour Museum of Fine Arts –Ventriloquist Sylvia Fletcher delights audiences will a colorful cast of wise-cracking characters in the “The Magic Trunk.” Children will meet a hilarious opossum, fall in love with an adorable baby “stega-dragon,” and see a mysterious picture come to life.

 

Ongoing Activities

10 a.m.-5 p.m., Science Museum – See Reptiles, Dinosaurs and Birds: The Real Connection, a special exhibit of robotic and live creatures. (additional fee)

11 a.m.-4 p.m., D’Amour Museum of Fine Arts – Go on an I Spy scavenger hunt through the museum galleries.

11:15 a.m., noon, 1 & 2 p.m., Science Museum – See a planetarium show. (additional fee)

11:30 a.m.-noon, Science Museum – See a live animal demonstration featuring snakes and turtles.

11:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m., G.W.V. Smith Art Museum – Make your own Moppet Puppet.

Noon-3:45 p.m., G.W.V. Smith Art Museum – Make your own elephant puppet.

1:30-3:45 p.m., Science Museum – Experiment with electricity, chemistry and weather in Hands-on Family Science.
