An event celebrating the life of community volunteer Janee Armstrong Friedmann will be held on Wednesday, May 16, from 3 to 5:30 p.m. at Springfield Symphony Hall. The celebration is open to the public.

The event will feature soprano Heidi Grant Murphy performing with members of the Springfield Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Maestro Kevin Rhodes. A reception will follow the performance. Friedmann, who passed away in March, was a dedicated volunteer for organizations that included the Symphony, the Springfield Museums, the American Red Cross, WGBY public television, Storrs Library in Longmeadow, the Springfield Public Forum, and other community and civic groups. Springfield Symphony Hall is located at 34 Court Street in downtown Springfield.
