The Corporators of the Springfield Museums, at their annual meeting on Sept. 28, elected three new Trustees to three-year terms.
SPRINGFIELD – The Corporators of the Springfield Museums, at their annual meeting on Sept. 28, elected three new Trustees to three-year terms. They are: Michael F. Golden, Michael Matty, and Peter A. Picknelly. Golden is president and chief executive officer of Smith & Wesson Holding Corporation. He received his Bachelor of Science in marketing from Pennsylvania State University and his MBA from Emory University in Georgia. Before coming to Smith & Wesson, he held leadership positions at Black & Decker, Kohler Co., and the Stanley Works Company. Michael Matty is executive vice president and chief investment officer at St. Germain Investment Management. He has more than 18 years of investment management experience, including 10 years at Phoenix Investment Counsel, a subsidiary of Phoenix Home Life. More recently, he was a principal at Capital Reflections, Inc., an independent firm providing investment research and stock recommendations to institutional investors. Peter A. Picknelly is president of Peter Pan Bus Lines, Inc. He is the third generation of Picknellys to lead the bus company. He serves on the Board of Park Commissioners for the Springfield Park and Recreation Department. He is past president and a current board member of the Business Friend of the Arts and also serves on the boards of the Springfield Boys' Club and the Willie Ross School for the Deaf. Reelected to the Springfield Museums' board for three-year terms were Richard B. Collins, David W. Glidden, Noel R. Leary, Elsie Smith, and J. Michael Wallace, Esq. The annual meeting of the corporators was followed by the organizational meeting of the Board of Trustees at which the following officers were elected for one-year terms: J. Michael Wallace, Esq., chairman; John M. O'Brien III, CPA, treasurer; Richard B. Collins, assistant treasurer; Frances M. Gagnon, clerk; and David Starr, assistant clerk.
