The Board of Trustees of the Springfield Museums has appointed Kay Simpson as the Vice President of the Springfield Museums.
Simpson has assumed increasing responsibility during her more than 25 years with the Museums, mostly recently serving as Director of Museum Education and Institutional Advancement. She supervises the Museums’ adult, school, and family programs, and is the head of grant writing, including finding funding sources, for the entire institution. She also oversees the Development Office, planning membership and fundraising campaigns. Simpson is the staff member charged with shepherding the organization through the rigorous museum accreditation process and is involved in all aspects of operation.
Simpson serves on the Board of the New England Museum Association (NEMA) and is co-chair of the NEMA’s annual museum conference which will be held in Springfield in November.
Simpson holds a B.A. in art history from Smith College and an M.Ed. in educational administration from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
