The Springfield Museums at the Quadrangle will present the following Museums à la Carte programs in September. The programs are held on Thursdays at 12:15 p.m. in the Museum of Fine Arts.
Sept. 7 – Honoring the Gods: Life and Art at Ancient Egyptian Temples; Diana Wolfe Larkin, visiting associate professor of art, Mount Holyoke College. Sept. 14 – The Duryea Legacy: Springfield's Role in Automotive History; Guy McLain, director, Connecticut Valley Historical Museum. Sept. 21 – Exploring and Sharing the World of Opera, Ron Luchsinger, artistic director, Commonwealth Opera. Sept. 28 – Burial Objects and Beautiful Sculpture: Treasures of the Ancient World at the George Walter Vincent Smith Art Museum, Heather Haskell, director, Springfield Museum of Fine Arts Admission to Museums à la Carte is $4 ($2 for members of the Springfield Museums). The programs are sponsored by Big Y World Class Market. Visitors are invited to bring lunch to enjoy during the program; dessert and beverage are provided.
