The Springfield Museums are getting into the spirit of Halloween with "Spirits and Savories."
SPRINGFIELD – The Springfield Museums are getting into the spirit of Halloween with "Spirits and Savories," an evening of refreshments and "spirited" conversation, on Thursday, Oct. 27, from 6 to 9 p.m. The highlight of the evening will be a presentation by psychic Gary McKinstry at 6 p.m. in the Museum of Fine Arts. McKinstry will discuss the spiritual energy in the George Walter Vincent Smith Art Museum, long thought to be inhabited by the spirits of Smith and his wife, Belle. McKinstry is a certified professional Tarot card reader, a clairvoyant and a medium. He gives free phone readings on four radio stations throughout New England, including WMAS and WARE in Western Massachusetts. He also does private and group readings and has clients in France, Australia, Brazil, Spain and Canada. Following his presentation, McKinstry will give palm and Tarot readings in the G.W.V. Smith Art Museum. In addition, Museum School instructor Mari Funai will discuss the art and symbolism of Tarot cards at 7 and 7:30 p.m.
