Museums to Celebrate T. rex's 40th Birthday

At 11 am, Caravan Puppets present a performance of “Professor Diggins’ Jurassic Journey” (SIS Hall, Wood Museum), complete with dinosaur puppets, creative moment, and a rock-and-roll soundtrack. Then at 2 pm, Dinoman presents “Dinoman Dinosaurs!” (Davis Auditorium, D’Amour Museum of Fine Arts), which takes visitors on a trip through the Mesozoic Era using enormous life-sized dinosaurs.

In addition, Teaching Creatures will also invite visitors to meet an assortment of live reptiles and amphibians up-close at their “Hurray for Herps” program (11:30 am– 1:30 pm, Science Museum Workshop, 2nd Floor).

The day’s events will also include Family Science Adventures at the Science Museum (11 am – 2 pm), as well as themed art projects in the Art Discovery Center of the George Walter Vincent Smith Art Museum (12 – 4 pm) and in Tolman Auditorium at the Science Museum (11 am – 4 pm). The Seymour Planetarium will also present shows at 11:15 am, 12 pm, 1 pm, and 2 pm (extra fee for nonmembers).

“Spring Fling: Happy Birthday, T. rex!” is part of the Museums’ Family Fun series, which is supported by the TD Charitable Foundation.
