The Springfield Museums at the Quadrangle will present the following Museums à la Carte programs in October. The programs are held on Thursdays at 12:15 p.m. in the Michele and Donald D’Amour Museum of Fine Arts.
Oct. 1 – J.M.W. Turner, Master Landscape Painter; film presentation from the National Gallery of Art.
Oct. 8 – Improving Lives through Education in Malawi, Africa; Shannon Massey, Karen and Stephen Hardy of Educate Malawi, Inc.
Oct. 15 – On the Forefront of Invention: Springfield during the Industrial Revolution; Guy McLain, director, Springfield History Museums.
Oct. 22 – Early Transportation: Over the River and Beyond the Woods; Frances Gagnon, Springfield historian.
Oct. 29 – Giants of the North Woods: Mark Picard, nature and wildlife photographer.
Admission to Museums à la Carte is $4 ($2 for members of the Springfield Museums). The programs are sponsored by Big Y World Class Market. Visitors are invited to bring lunch to enjoy during the program; cookies and coffee are provided.
