October 2012 Museums à la Carte Programs

The Springfield Museums will present the following Museums à la Carte programs in October. The programs are held on Thursdays at 12:15 pm in the Michele and Donald D’Amour Museum of Fine Arts.


  • Oct. 4 – Myanmar (Burma): The Golden Land; Amy S. Dane, world traveler and docent, Springfield Museums.
  • Oct. 11 – Masterpieces of the Dutch Golden Age in the D’Amour Museum of Fine Arts; Jessica Maier, Ph.D., assistant professor of art history, Mount Holyoke College.
  • Oct. 18 – Keeping a Promise: The Writing of “To Datoka and Back: The Story of an Orphan Train Rider;” Judith E. Kappenman, author.
  • Oct. 25 – Inspirations: Stories about Women Artists; Leslie Sills, artist, author, and art educator.

Admission to Museums à la Carte is $4 ($2 for members of the Springfield Museums). The programs are sponsored by Big Y World Class Market. Visitors are invited to bring lunch to enjoy during the program. Cookies and coffee are provided.
