Paintings by Connecticut Artist Reflect Feminine Nature

Paintings by Connecticut artist Daryl Zang will be on exhibit in the Community Gallery at the Michele and Donald D’Amour Museum of Fine Arts from January 19 through April 4, 2010. There will be a reception with the artist on April 1 from 5-7 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

Zang’s self-portraits depict the beauty and sometimes the frustrations of motherhood. Her canvases reflect the private moments, personal space and inner emotions of all women. The muted palette and beautifully rendered drapery in her paintings speak to the soft, contemplative side of femininity.

Carving out her own artistic niche, Zang has been developing this body of work since 2001. Approximately 15 paintings will be on display in the exhibition.
