Spend December Vacation at the Museums

Enter the magical world of lords, ladies and knights in shining armor at the Springfield Museums. "Medieval Days" activities will be offered from December 26 through 30 and are free with museum admission unless noted.


Scheduled Performances:

 

Friday, December 26

  • Sparky’s Puppets perform The Kingdom of Riddles and The Princess and the Pea. (1 p.m.)

 

Saturday, December 27

  • Moonship Productions presents Dardragon and the Three Hills, an interactive show brought to life by members of the audience. (1 p.m.)

 

Sunday, December 28

  • The Puppet People perform The Last Dragon on Earth. (1 p.m.)

 

Monday, December 29

  • Team Magic presents its newest magic show, Dragons & Dreams: The Wizard Show. (1 p.m.)

 

Tuesday, December 30

  • See sword fighting demonstrations by Autumn Tree Productions, featuring costumed knights and squires. (11:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m. & 3:30 p.m.)

 

Ongoing Daily Activities:

  • Medieval Mix-up – A variety of art activities that change throughout the week. (11:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.)
  • See a planetarium show. (11:15 a.m., noon, 1 & 2 p.m.; additional fee)
  • Make your own medieval tapestry in the Art Discovery Center. (noon-3:45 p.m.)
  • Family Science Adventures – Play games, build puzzles and investigate sound, electricity, chemistry, weather and more. (noon-3:45 p.m.)
  • See the medieval castle scene in the special exhibit Toy Soldiers: History in Miniature at the Connecticut Valley Historical Museum. (11 a.m.-4 p.m.)
