The Springfield Museums have planned a week of prehistoric fun during February school vacation. "Dinosaurs, Reptiles & Birds, Oh My!" activities will be offered from February 16 through 20 and are free with museum admission unless noted.
Performances:
· Mon., Feb. 16, 1 p.m. – Henry Lappen presents Birds in Their Habitats, an interactive performance with dancing and masks.
· Tues., Feb. 17, 1 p.m. – Dinoman Dinosaurs will take you on a trip through the Mesozoic era with magnificent large-scale props.
· Wed., Feb. 18, 1 p.m. – Meet live animals in the Rainforest Reptile Show.
· Thurs., Dec. 19, 1 p.m. – The Dinoman Dinosaurs show returns for an encore performance.
· Fri., Feb. 20, 1 p.m. – Travel back to the time of the dinosaurs with a performance of Nick of Time by the No Strings Marionette Company.
Ongoing Activities:
· Visit Reptiles, Dinosaurs and Birds: The Real Connection, an exhibit of robotic and live creatures ($3 per person special exhibit fee), 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
· Go on an I Spy scavenger hunt through the museum galleries, 11 a.m.-4 p.m.
· Design a snake or a fuzzy dinosaur bookmark, 11:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
· See a planetarium show; 11:15 a.m., noon, 1 & 2 p.m. (additional fee)
· Make a magic scratch turtle, noon-3:45 p.m.
· Enjoy hands-on Family Science Adventures, noon-3:45 p.m.
· Have a sneak peek of the new Museum of Springfield History, noon-4 p.m.
