Springfield Museums to Offer Docent Lecture on Colonial America’s “New” Elite

On November 18th at 2 pm, docent Betty Romer will discuss “Faces of the American Elite” during a mini-tour of the Michele & Donald D'Amour Museum of Fine Arts.

In viewing selected works from the 18th century, visitors will come face to face with leaders of colonial-era commerce who comprised America’s “new” elite, men who made their mark as the growth of commerce and banking brought them wealth and prestige.

The talk, the latest in a series of docent talks covering a broad array of topics related to the Museums’ collections, is free with museum admission. Free onsite parking is available. For more information, call 413.263.6800, ext. 236.
