The Springfield Museums will participate in the fifth annual Museum Day on Saturday, September 26, 2009. Museum Day is presented by Smithsonian magazine. The Springfield Museums, along with other museums nationwide, will be open free of charge to Smithsonian magazine readers and Smithsonian.com visitors.

For free admission, visitors must present the Museum Day Admission Card. To obtain a card, visit www.smithsonian.com/museumday and download the Museum Day Admission Card, or find it in the September 2009 issue of Smithsonian.  Each card provides museum access for two people, and one admission card is permitted per household.

Last year, more than 200,000 people took advantage of Museum Day at over 900 participating museums in all 50 states plus Puerto Rico. Listings and links to this year’s participating museums can be found at www.smithsonian.com/museumday .
