The Springfield Museums will hold an Open House for principals, teachers and PTO leaders from Pre-K through 12th grade schools on Tuesday, August 19, from 2:30-5:30 p.m. The event will help school educators learn about the Museums and how a field trip can supplement classroom study.

Admission is free with a school ID. Advance registration is required. Participants will tour the Science Museum, Museum of Fine Arts, and George Walter Vincent Smith Art Museum, and see demonstrations of school group programs. Museum education staff will explain the procedure for booking field trips, and pre- and post-visit materials will be discussed. Attendees will receive discount coupons for $1 off per student, the chance to win a $100 school gift basket from the Museum Store, and a packet including the new school program brochure and a list of the curriculum connections for all programs.
