Local Treasures: Amherst College Planetarium & Beneski Museum of Natural History

Enjoy a tour and a program at Amherst College’s Bassett Planetarium. Learn about the history of the planetarium and how the space is used today. Participants will explore the seasonal night sky and view some of the most amazing images of our galaxy and beyond. Following our group lunch at 30 Boltwood, we’ll visit the home to one of New England’s finest natural history collections at Amherst College’s Beneski Museum. Learn about the history of the collections, as well the many connections to the natural history of the Connecticut River Valley. We will explore together the internationally recognized dinosaur track collection—all of which were found within 30 minutes of Springfield.
