Art Explorers: From Samurai to Seuss
(Children ages 6-8) Decorate, weave, and fold paper to create samurai kimonos. Paint pictures where people, flowers, and animals dance and fly!
Earth’s Cool Creatures
Meet turtles face-to-face and learn their importance in the food web. Create your own diorama as you explore the enchanting world of coral reefs and the fascinating creatures that depend on them.
Wildlife Adventures
We will pack up the lab and visit the shores of the Connecticut River at the Fannie Stebbins Wildlife Refuge and hike the trails at the Fort River Wildlife Refuge for additional up close encounters with the natural world.
Ninjas and Mixed Media
(Children ages 11-14) Using the museums’ collections and special exhibitions such as Turtle Power! Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles & Samurai Heroes as our primary focus, students will create artwork from many types of subject matter.
Summer Science Sampler: Week 1
(Children ages 5-7) Explore new and exciting treasures in art, history and science. Visit live animal exhibits and learn about creatures of the sea.
Curiosity and Imagination: Dinos & Turtles, Oh My!
(Children ages 5-7) Learn all about turtles and their ancient armored relatives. Explore how once upon a time our Springfield area was home to volcanoes and dinos.
Woodworking Open Shop
(Children ages 7-10) Learn basic woodworking skills as you practice how to measure, cut and assemble your wooden creations. Design and build your own project for the week. Special attention will be placed on safety and fun.
Awesome Science Adventures
(Children ages 8-11) Explore exciting areas of science, from geology, rock identification to using microscopes and solar-powered cars.
