Throughout history music has been woven into everyday life. Whether one listens to, creates or performs music, the art form indisputably enhances our lives. From concerts to jam sessions, music lessons to radio, iPod recordings to the sounds of nature, there are a myriad of ways that music can be experienced and enjoyed.

This exhibition features works on paper from the collection of the D’Amour Museum of Fine Arts that celebrate the musical arts. From a cubist mandolin by Pablo Picasso, to a sketch of a beggar musician by Frank Brangwyn, to an abstract etching called Jam Session II, by Frederick Becker (a former professor in the Fine Arts Department at the University of Massachusetts) that inspired the title of the exhibition, the artists portray music in unique and varied ways.
