Two white dogs aside one brown dog all at center chasing an animal which is headed down into a hole. Fourth dog is in doorway in background. Companion to Who’s Afraid of You? (2004.D03.632 FAC #6648).
Currier & Ives often printed images in pairs. Going for Him is a companion print to Who’s Afraid of You?, which can also be found in this exhibition. The two prints capture succeeding moments of a chase between several young puppies and a rogue barn rodent. This scene shows the tail-end of a rat as he slips between the floor boards of the barn. In the scene that follows, the rodent looks back at the young hunters as if to mock them.
