On Thursday, February 7 from 5-8 pm, The Springfield Museums will present their next Culture & Cocktails event of the season, Indulgence: An Evening of Wine of Chocolate. The event will take place at the D’Amour Museum of Fine Arts, and is sponsored by Health New England.
This particular event has become an annual favorite, as the admission includes the chance to sample 5 different wines provided by Whole Foods Market, the evening’s wine sponsor. Donald Williams, known at Whole Foods as their “Wine Guy,” has handpicked wines that appeal to a variety of tastes, and will also be on hand for a brief overview of the evening’s wines. Options will include Layer Cake’s 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon, Chocolate Box Winery’s 2011 Shiraz, and Ricossa’s sparkling red wine.
Since the tastings are included in the admission cost, tickets are very limited for this event.
Tickets are $10, and may be purchased by visiting www.springfieldmuseums.org. Although admission is free for Springfield Museum members, they should still reserve their tickets in advance.
In keeping with the evening’s theme, chocolate hors d’oeuvres will be provided by Elegant Affairs Catering, which will also have a cash bar available. Attendees can also enjoy the current exhibits at D’Amour Museum, including the modern American paintings in Modern Dialect and Lisa Hoke’s Love American Style. Museum school artists Wednesday N. Sorokin and Bob Markey will also be on hand to discuss their work, and The Ross Novgrad Jazz Trio will provide the evening’s entertainment.
The event is for people ages 21 and up. Attendees should enter using the Museums’ Welcome Center. Free, secure onsite parking is available. For additional information about Culture & Cocktails, call 413.263.6800, ext. 379.
