A few spaces are still available in the Springfield Museums' cultural tour of the art and music of Austria from October 9 through 17, 2006. The trip has been planned in recognition of the 250th anniversary of Mozart's birth.
The trip will focus on Vienna and Salzburg, with musical performances, museum tours and city sightseeing excursions planned exclusively for the group. Opera lovers may choose the option to attend a performance of The Magic Flute at the Vienna State Opera. The tour will also include one day in Germany with a tour of Ludwig II's Neuschwanstein Castle in Bavaria. The trip will be escorted by Jeanne Fontaine, courses and travel curator at the Springfield Museums, and Guy McLain, a trained musician and the director of the Connecticut Valley Historical Museum.
