December 2005 Museums à la Carte Programs

The Museums will present the following Museums à la Carte programs in December. Museums à la Carte programs are held on Thursdays at 12:15 p.m. in the Museum of Fine Arts.


Dec. 1 – The History of Flight; Skip Price, professor, Greenfield Community College, and research scientist, NASA. Dec. 8 – No Museums à la Carte program today. Dec. 15 – Dashing through the Snow: The Real History of Christmas in New England; Dennis Picard, director, Storrowton Village Museum. Dec. 22 – Forgotten Connections: The Connecticut River Valley and the China Trade, 1784-1860; Amanda Lange, curator of historic interiors, Historic Deerfield. Dec. 29 – A View to Heaven: Looking through Gothic Architecture; Michael Davis, professor of art, Mt. Holyoke College. Admission to Museums à la Carte is $4 ($2 for members of the Springfield Museums). Big Y World Class Market sponsors the programs. Visitors are invited to bring lunch to enjoy during the program; dessert and beverage are provided.
