Space is still available in a one-day Native American drum-making workshop scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 9, from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the George Walter Vincent Smith Art Museum on the Quadrangle.
Participants will make a traditional Lakota ceremonial hand drum and a willow drumstick with the guidance of expert drum maker Timothy Swallow. Hand-hollowed tree rounds and elk rawhide will be provided. For more information or to register, call the Museum School at 413.263.6800, ext. 377 or 378.
