The Springfield Museums have planned a week of prehistoric fun during February school vacation. "Dynamic Dinosaurs" activities will be offered from February 18 through 22 and are free with museum admission unless noted.
February school vacation week activities are sponsored by Berkshire Bank Foundation. Scheduled Performances and Activities: Monday, February 18 Travel back in time with KLS Castle Puppet Theater's performance of Make Friends with the Dinosaurs. (1 p.m.) Dinosaur Digs – Get your hands dirty and search for fossils like a paleontologist. (11:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.) Tuesday, February 19 Jackson Gillman presents Swamp Cakes and Cattails, featuring lively songs and stories. (1 p.m.) Dinosaur Digs – Get your hands dirty and search for fossils like a paleontologist. (11:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.) Wednesday, February 20 Keith Michael Johnson, aka "The Bubble Guy," is your guide to The Secret World of Bubbles. (1 p.m.) Make a dinosaur door hanger for your bedroom door. (11:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.) Thursday, February 21 Musician Christopher Worth performs a variety of dino-themed songs. (Noon & 1:15 p.m.) Make a dynamic dinosaur mobile. (11:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.) Friday, February 22 Get ready for Dinoman Dinosaurs, gigantic inflatable creatures by Theatre X Productions. (1 p.m.) Make your own dynamic dinosaur mobile. (11:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.) Ongoing Daily Activities: See the blockbuster exhibit Dinosaurs! Land, Sea and Air. (Special exhibit fee $3 for all visitors ages 3 and up.) Prehistoric Pop-ups – Create your own scene and color designs from the distant past. See a planetarium show. (11:15 a.m., noon, 1 & 2 p.m.; additional fee) Dinosaur Family Science Adventures – Play games, build puzzles and investigate what may have caused the extinction of these creatures. (Noon-3:45 p.m.) Grab a quick lunch at the Family Fun Snack Bar. (11 a.m.-2:30 p.m.)
