There will be no charge to visit the Springfield Museums on Friday, July 27. The free admission is made possible by a grant from the Highland Street Foundation in Newton, Mass.
The “Free Fun Fridays” program was launched four years ago with 10 museums participating and has grown to include 50 institutions across the commonwealth this year.
"We are extremely glad to have the Springfield Museums take part in Free Fun Fridays this year. It's a cultural hub in Western Massachusetts comprised of four separate museums focusing on art, history and science. It is also well known for its Dr. Seuss National Memorial Sculpture Garden, which is always a favorite with kids," said Blake Jordan, Executive Director of the Highland Street Foundation.
The free admission on July 27 includes all four Springfield Museums at the Quadrangle. The free admission does not include planetarium tickets. The Free Fun Fridays program is intended for individuals and families; large groups are discouraged from attending on this day due to anticipated crowds.
