November 2011 Museums à la Carte Programs

The Springfield Museums will present the following Museums à la Carte programs in November. The programs are held on Thursdays at 12:15 pm in the Michele and Donald D’Amour Museum of Fine Arts.


  • Nov. 3 – Masculine and Unaffected: Architecture in the Age of Queen Elizabeth I; Christy Anderson, Ph.D., art history professor, University of Toronto.
  • Nov. 10 – Black Families in Hampden County, 1650 to the Civil War; Joseph Carvalho, author, historian, and retired president, Springfield Museums.
  • Nov. 17 – The History, Geometry and Artistry of American Quilting; Adele Gladstone-Gilbert, quilter and educator, Memorial Hall Museum, Deerfield, Mass.

Admission to Museums à la Carte is $4 ($2 for members of the Springfield Museums). The programs are sponsored by Big Y World Class Market. Visitors are invited to bring lunch to enjoy during the program. Cookies and coffee are provided. Parking is free.
