Performance of Pinocchio is Highlight of Museum Program for Families

The Springfield Museums’ Weekend Family Fun series will continue on Saturday, April 2, with “P is for Puppet.” Activities will take place from 10 am to 4 pm and are free with museum admission unless noted.


Weekend Family Fun programs are sponsored by TD Bank through the TD Charitable Foundation.

Performance, 1 pm

  • Pinocchio presented by the National Marionette Theater – Follow Pinocchio as he goes on a series of adventures and learns that only by being truthful, selfless and kind can he realize his dream of becoming a real boy.

Ongoing Activities

  • Hands-on art activity – Color a canvas zoo animal hand puppet, 11:30 am-3 pm
  • Hands-on art activity – Make a butterfly finger puppet, noon-3:45 pm
  • Scavenger Hunts – Locate objects in the galleries of the art and history museums, 11 am-3:45 pm
  • Roving Scientist Demonstrations, 1-3:30 pm
  • Planetarium Shows – 11:15 am, noon, 1 and 2 pm (additional fee)

Special Exhibit

  • Reptiles: The Beautiful and the Deadly, twenty exotic live reptiles from around the world ($5 special exhibit fee for all visitors ages 3 and up in addition to museum admission.)
