Springfield Museums Celebrate the Holidays with a Night of “Champagne and Mistletoe”

The Springfield Museums will host their third Culture & Cocktails event of the season on Thursday, December 13 from 5-8 pm at the Springfield Science Museum. The event, titled “Champagne and Mistletoe,” is sponsored by The Valley Advocate.

Attendees can view Gingerbread Fairy Tales, a special exhibition of over 30 gingerbread houses from professional and amateur bakers; decorate a holiday cookie; and even take a wacky holiday photo with Santa himself.

In honor of the 75th anniversary of the Science Museum’s Seymour Planetarium, the evening will include a special planetarium show and talk by Curator of Physical Science Richard Sanderson, who will highlight the unique history of the planetarium, the oldest of its kind still in operation.

Admission is free for members of the Springfield Museums and $5 for nonmembers. The price of admission includes hors d’oeuvres provided by Elegant Affairs and live music by the Signature Brass Quintet. The cash bar will feature specialty champagne cocktails, and cupcakes from local favorite SugarBakers Cupcake Truck will also be available for purchase.

The event is for ages 21 and up. Both museum members and nonmembers are encouraged to make advance reservations through springfieldmuseums.org or by phone at 413.263.6800, ext. 266.

Free, secure onsite parking is available. For additional information about Culture & Cocktails, call 413.263.6800, ext. 379.
