The Springfield Museums will begin its second season of Culture & Cocktails events with Oktoberfest: The Art of the Brew on Thursday, October 6 from 5-8 pm at the Lyman and Merrie Wood Museum of Springfield History. The evening is sponsored by Lyman and Merrie Wood.
Admission is free for members of the Springfield Museums and $5 for nonmembers. The price of admission includes beer-tasting provided by local breweries, hors d’oeuvres provided by The Student Prince restaurant, and live music by Jamie Kent and The Options.
There will also be a homebrew competition organized by DIY Brewing Supply and a cash bar for wine and other drinks. Guests will receive a free Culture & Cocktails bottle opener and flashlight keychain.
The event is for people ages 21 and up. Both museum members and nonmembers are encouraged to make advance reservations through springfieldmuseums.org or by phone at 413.263.6800, ext. 266.
Beer tastings are compliments of Amherst Brewing Co., Berkshire Brewing Co., Green River Ambrosia, Olde Burnside Brewing Co., Opa Opa Brewery, Paper City Brewing Co., Peak Organic Brewing Co., and The People’s Pint Brewery.
