TD Bank, through the TD Charitable Foundation, recently donated $10,000 to the Springfield Museums as part of the bank’s commitment to giving back to the community.
The Museums will use the funds to support the Family Fun series of educational programs. Family Fun programs highlight special exhibitions, seasonal themes, cultures from around the world, and popular topics like dinosaurs and Dr. Seuss.
“Families from throughout the Greater Springfield area visit the museums specifically for our Family Fun programs,” said Holly Smith-Bové, president of the Springfield Museums. “Without support from TD Bank these popular programs would not be possible.”
The TD Charitable Foundation is the charitable giving arm of TD Bank. The Foundation provides financial and other support to affordable housing initiatives, financial literacy and education and the environment, many of which focus on improving the welfare of children and families. “A staunch commitment to active involvement in the local community is a vital element of the TD Bank philosophy,” said Robert Babcock, Massachusetts Central and Western Market President of TD Bank.
The four Springfield Museums and the Dr. Seuss National Memorial Sculpture Garden are located on the Quadrangle at 21 Edwards Street in downtown Springfield.
